Hamlet / Bottling Works / Hamlet N.C. Aqua Soda Bottle, c. 1900s-1910s

Marked: “HAMLET / BOTTLING WORKS / HAMLET N.C.”

$700

We are pleased to offer this aqua crown-top soda, embossed HAMLET BOTTLING WORKS, HAMLET N.C., and recovered from the Sandhills of North Carolina. Hamlet was a railroad town above all else — the Seaboard Air Line depot of 1900 sent five spurs out toward Atlanta, Savannah, Wilmington, and beyond — and a bottle such as this one quenched the thirst of train crews and travelers passing through in the years before Prohibition. It stands 7 inches tall, holds approximately 7 fluid ounces, and has been gently cleaned; condition is good, with the embossing still reading clearly. A fine addition to any collection of small-town North Carolina bottling history, and ready for a good home.
